About the Ciolinos

After 4 years of working at the boatyard in MA, Jim changed venues and moved to Palm Beach, FL, where he worked for Spencer Boat Yards. Working in the Soverel Harbor  location, Jim was responsible for hauling and launching boats up to 50 feet.  Jim was also responsible for painting and refurbishing boats as well as any other repair work necessary.  His last year working with boats was back in MA, where he worked as a freelance boat handy man, helping with larger repair work and also cleaning boats in various marinas in the area.

From the boatyard, Jim moved to the corporate world where he worked selling plastic and plastic equipment. True to form, Jim worked hard to understand the product, the industry and how the business is run. This hard work paid off as he moved “up the ranks”, starting as a customer service coordinator, then as sales rep to sales manager and eventually as president of the company. It was Jim’s last position as president where he learned the ins and outs of business that gave him the foundation to effectively run Bullock Cove Marine.

BULLOCK COVE MARINE

About Bullock Cove Marine

Our Mission Statement

Bullock Cove Marine is a full service boat yard and marina located on Bullock Cove in Riverside, RI.  Situated in the northern part of Narragansett Bay, the boatyard is ideally located to serve sail and power boaters who spend their time on the water on Narragansett Bay, with only an occasional trip outside of the bay. In business for over 22 years, Bullock Cove Marine offers the ability to address any need a boater may have.  The small, but attentive staff is able to offer fiberglass repair, painting, deck repair, wood working and other refit work. We can also address all but the biggest of mechanical repairs.  The 2+ acre property has enough open space to store 140+ boats in the winter, including inside storage and 50 wet slips for summer dockage.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, in October of 2010, Jim Ciolino, along with his wife Julie and three sons, Salvatore, Stephen and Michael, became the new owners of Bullock Cove Marine.

Jim’s boat experience started during his college years when he took a job at a racing sailboat manufacturer in Gloucester, MA. This is where he learned about fiberglass and fiberglass repair. From there, he moved on to work in a boatyard also in Gloucester, MA.  Working there for 5 seasons, Jim did everything from fiberglass repair to bottom painting to running the marine store. He ran the 35 ton Marine TravelLift and also two large fork trucks.  This is also where Jim learned how to drive and maneuver boats of all types.
